About

SRQ Couture Hair Salon & Spa is a boutique salon located in the heart of downtown Sarasota, known for its personalized approach to hair and beauty services. The salon had come under new ownership and had been losing customers to the previous owner. Without a unique brand to represent them and a minimal online presence, the new owner decided it was time for a rebrand to represent the new management.

The Scope

The project was to redesign their brand to differentiate the salon from their previous owners while also tieing in old brand elements so that current customers do not get confused. The goal was to create a polished visual identity that transmits a soft and feminine feeling while also expressing the unique connection SRQ stylists have with their clients. In addition to this, I was tasked with creating a new website and business cards that reflect the new branding.

Visual Identity Guide

The visual identity has lavender-like blues to represent the relaxing ambiance of the salon and incorporates lilies and orchids into the imagry to invoke a soft and feminine feel. Thin elegant fonts are used to tie in the “couture” feeling of old movie stars. In addition to this, the same composition of the old logo was used but we opted for a more modern illustrated  version of this logo while also redesigning the flower concept with the lily in the girl’s hair.

About

Lirio And Co is a socially conscious brand that specializes in handcrafted purses, accessories, and apparel created by skilled artisans in Peru. The brand combines traditional techniques with modern designs, using sustainable materials to craft unique pieces. Through their work, Lirio And Co empowers artisan communities while celebrating cultural heritage.

The Scope

The project was to redesign their Shopify Ecommerce store to reflect the clean and elegant look of the brand. The old version of the website was overloaded with pink and beige and did not represent the brand look & feel. In addition to this the brand story and information about the sustainable materials used for their products was not well represented. My goal was to create an easy to navigate website with organized product collections and a more minimal website design that would allow the look of the products to shine.

The Scope

Marie needed to establish a cohesive brand for her podcast and social media. She had many great ideas but ultimately had too many styles that clashed. My mission was to redesign her logo and create a brand style guide that focused on one cohesive visual identity that would work across all platforms. In addition to this I redesigned the podcast cover art and consulted on social media graphics.

About

Minorities in Publishing is a podcast for underrepresented book publishing professionals hosted by author and industry professional Jennifer Baker.

Jennifer Baker originally had her podcast episodes posted on Tumblr but since this platform was shutting down she wanted to post her episodes on her own dedicated website.

The Scope

The project was to create a website to host over 130 episodes of the Minorities in Publishing podcast.

Jennifer requested the website be built on Squarespace so that she could easily update the site with new episodes. Despite the design limitations of a template-based site like Squarespace, with some custom code, I was able to achieve a look that was on brand and convert the blog posting section to accommodate the podcast episode posts.
